The Month's Are So Different
September is drawing to a close and what an odd month it has been. It has been fun and new on a personal level and very strange and uncertain on a national. I am not a registered Republican or Democrat. I am a registered voter though with no party affiliation. I try to cater to what I believe is the best person or ballot measure to fit my my own perspective. I try to do that in all things. Hence the name of my column “From This Angle”. I don’t write about politics very often (and I’m not on today’s post) but when I do it is from the viewpoint of a citizen and not a party member. The allegiance lies only with myself and what I believe is best for my country.
So let me tell you what I’ve been up to for the past few weeks. I’ve been a guest on two different podcasts. I pulled an extra gig on a short comedy film “Kick Time” being put together for the fun of it with Thomas Ian Griffith (Karate Kid Part 3 & Cobra Kai) and his wife Mary Page Griffith. It was a one day shoot in Pasadena and I had a great time. What a nice team to work with.
I attended an opening reception at Heritage House Auctions in Beverly Hills for the first round of the Guillermo Del Toro collection. some beautiful items but a little (read a lot) out of my price range. Then my favorite thing this month has been shooting a Presenter segment for Director Michael Varrati for The Chainsaw Awards presented by Fangoria. If you don’t know, The Chainsaw Awards are awarding the best of the best in Horror film as chosen by a large panel of judges, including you if you voted. The Chainsaw Awards will be broadcast October 19th on Shudder so mark your calendars.
Actually that’s a wrap on September with plenty of things happening in October. But of course! I am writing on two novels and a large short story I hope to have ready for book 3 in the Hotel Macabre anthology series that Joe Mynhardt is putting together for Crystal Lake Publishing. This story is fighting me back (as it should) but I’ll get there in time to turn it in. If it doesn’t kill me first “Bwahaha”
The photo is of me on the set of the Chainsaw Awards.
